Blackmouth Salmon Blackmouth Salmon are Puget Sounds resident salmon. A typical season may start as early as October but the regulations change from year to year. These fish are King Salmon but instead of migrating to the ocean the Blackmouth stay in the Puget Sound all year. They are called "Blackmouth" because of their black gum line.
